The Hospital Administrator/Director partners with other Polara Health leadership to develop and implement plans that improve care models and service delivery for patients and families, which includes coordination of outpatient services.
Responsible for promoting high-quality customer service, while ensuring services are delivered within fiscal and budgetary parameters.
Maintains relationships with outside agencies to promote an effective healthcare delivery system.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES/
Responsibilities:
Develops and monitors hospital programs and all emergency/crisis programs and services.
Mentors staff around operationalization of Polara Health systems of care.
Provides clinical and administrative supervision of assigned Nursing.
Manages and supports other clinical and medical leaders and staff across the agency.
Develops and implements program goals and monitors progress.
Monitors and enforces policies and procedures pertaining to the hospital as a whole.
Responsible for directing and coordinating all services across the hospital, CSU, and Connections Center units.
Oversees, coordinates and directs day to day functions of the hospital ensuring each area of the hospital functions well as a unit and fulfills its role within the organization's vision and mission.
Ensures that protocols and procedures are in place to coordinate care, referrals, and consultations with other providers, as necessary, throughout the area of responsibility.
Acts as a liaison among the various disciplines of the hospital to ensure everyone is working toward a common goal.
Keeps track of quality assurance measures and is actively involved in compliance, quality management, utilization management and utilization review.
Demonstrates the ability to communicate Polara Health's mission, vision and values, as well as departmental, organization and industry information to staff.
Responsible for hospital/inpatient unit operational excellence; ensures departments deliver quality services in accordance with applicable policies, procedures, professional standards, and regulations.
Provides clinical direction to the social work and nursing staff of the psychiatric hospital, CSU, and Connections Center.
Accountable for the overall quality and completion of the social services component of the inpatient record and client plan of care while ensuring care provided is appropriate.
Promotes and develops a culture of growth, learning and collaboration within the programs.
Coordinates and collaborates with directors of other programs in respect to clinical planning, service delivery, budgeting and cross-program issues.
Promotes services sensitive to the diverse ethnic populations of Yavapai County.
Manages resources and implements changes as needed according to financial considerations, trends and clinical or program needs.
Develops, administers and adheres to program budget, unit projections and other data measures.
Directly supervises site managers and nurse managers, including hiring, training, motivating, evaluating, and disciplining.
Indirectly manages other staff in the program.
Encourages the professional growth of site managers and other division staff.
Reviews all discipline actions taken by Managers.
Attends related meetings as hospital representative/role model of Polara Health with program consultants, consumers, families and the community as required.
Projects a positive image to other agencies and general public.
Participates in divisional/departmental/administrative team meetings, disseminates information to staff.
Accurately identifies real/potential problems affecting the services and implements solutions with follow-through and communication.
Represents Polara Health at system wide community forums and reports/integrates information with Polara Health practices.
Participates in and utilizes opportunities that provide professional growth through attendance at clinic in-services Collaborates with community Stakeholders to address community needs by addressing gaps in the system and services provided at the Clinic.
Provides effective leadership by critically analyzing issues, removing barriers, and solving problems in order to ensure world class customer services and to help staff do their best work.
Demonstrates respect and regard for the dignity of patients, families, visitors and fellow employees to ensure a professional, responsible and courteous environment.
Ensures that programs maintain clinically competent and adequate staff as needed to provide services to expected patient caseloads.

BACKGROUND:
Supervision - This position requires supervising three Site Managers at Polara Health Psychiatric Hospital, the Crisis Stabilization Unit, and Connections Center.
This position also oversees the High Acuity Nurse Manager and Outpatient Nurse Supervisor.
Confidentiality - This position carries a high level of exposure to confidential and proprietary information.
Includes personnel, business, clinical and other private information.
Mental Application - Position requires a high level of independent judgement, autonomy and responsibility.
Responsibility - This position is a higher, mid-level position with a high degree of responsibility.
Contacts/Internal and Public - This position requires a great deal of public, client and collegial contact.
It calls for strong public relations skills and problem- solving skills involving diplomacy and sensitivity.
